The Galway Public Library is proud to announce that the Dockstader Collection of local history materials is now available for public use.
Galway resident Kay Dockstader was a lifelong book collector, particularly of books with local interest. After she passed, her husband Clayton kept her collection and eventually passed it on to Erik and Julie Roy. The Roys decided that this collection would function best if it were serving the community and donated some of it to the Adirondack Research Center, while the rest came to the Galway Public Library.
This collection
focuses on local interest and history, particularly Saratoga County and
the Adirondacks. While most of the items are for in-library
use only, there are a number of books that do circulate. Stop
by the library any time to use this fascinating local history collection
