Subject: Galway Library hosts Art and History-Before the Fire: The Galway Village Crossroads
Date: Thursday, August 5, 2010, 7:00pm
Galway instructor Arlene Rhodes will present a local history discussion based on photos taken before and after the Great Galway Fire of September 1908.
This local history program serves as resource to all community members interested in participating in the creation of an outdoor painted mural depicting the village before and after the fire. The painted mural, a three wood panel series to be hung on the Galway Public Library building, is led by local artist Benno Kollegger, and will contain art created by any community member wishing to depict a part of Galway before and after the fire.
The art materials for this outdoor community arts and history program is sponsored by the Story Quilt Arts and Literature Fund.
No registration or fees required to participate.
