Galway Public Library Adds Local Farm images to NY State Archives

Subject: Galway Public Libary joins libraries and museums across New York State in providing digital archiving of local history collections.

Images from Galway’s Donnan Farm are now viewable online at NYHeritage.org and at the Capital District Library Council Digital Collections.  Images for the digital  Donnan Farm Collection were generously lent for digitization by Bonnie Donnan, President of the Galway Preservation Society. Library Director Regina Doi worked with the Capital District Library Council to provide online catalog access to the Donnan Farm images.  The Donnan Farm collection is the start of Galway Public Library’s local history digitalization project.

NewYorkHeritage.org has been listed for inclusion in the “Best of Reference: Hybrid Print and Electronic Resources for 2009.”  NewYorkHeritage.org is an online research portal for students, educators, historians, genealogists, and others  interested in learning more about the people, places and institutions of historical New York State. Collection items include photographs, letters, diaries, directories, maps, newspapers, books, and more.
